Packing checklist
What to bring
A little preparation goes a long way. During each visit I will put a location tag/finder on your dog's collar/harness when taking them out. Here's everything else your dog needs to feel right at home.
Before you arrive
Don't worry if you forget something small — I have supplies here [e.g drinking and food bowls]. But bringing familiar items from home really does help your dog settle in quickly, especially for overnight stays.
Day care
For half-day and full-day visits
- Food for the day (in a labelled container or bag)
- Any medication, clearly labelled with dosage instructions
- A familiar toy or comfort item (optional but welcome)
- Your dog's lead and collar or harness
- Any special dietary notes or feeding instructions
Overnight boarding
For stays of one night or more
- Enough food for the full stay, portioned and labelled by meal
- Any medication, clearly labelled with dosage and timing
- A small blanket or bedding from home (carries familiar scent)
- A favourite toy or comfort item
- Your dog's lead and collar or harness
- Vet contact details and your emergency contact number
- Any special care notes — routines, fears, quirks
Good to know
Please bring their bed
Whilst I have cosy blankets here I find that bringing your dog's own bed helps them settle.
Label everything
Please label all food containers, medication, and belongings with your dog's name so nothing gets mixed up.
Medication must be prescribed
I can only administer medication that has been prescribed by a vet and comes with clear written instructions.
