About me
A genuine love for small dogs
I'm based in Stanmore, Middlesex, and I've spent years caring for dogs — my own and those belonging to friends. For me this isn't just a business I stumbled into; it's founded on care, companionship & love.
How it all began
I've shared my home with dogs for as long as I can remember. There's something about their personalities — the loyalty, the sensitivity, the way they read a room — that I find endlessly endearing. When friends and neighbours started asking me to look after their dogs, it felt completely natural.
Over time, word spread. Dog owners told other dog owners. And I realised that what I was offering — genuine, attentive, home-based care — was something people really valued. Not a kennel. Not a large commercial operation. Just a calm, loving home where their dog would be treated as my own.
Small Dog Big Care is a personal, home-based service built entirely around the wellbeing of the dog in my care
What I believe in
Small dogs are different
Small breeds have their own needs, temperaments, and sensitivities. I understand them — and I tailor my care accordingly.
Home is the best environment
Dogs thrive in calm, familiar settings. My home is quiet, safe, and designed with small dogs in mind.
Routine matters
I work hard to maintain each dog's usual routine — feeding times, walks, rest — so they feel settled and secure.
Communication is everything
I keep owners updated with regular messages and photos, so you always know your dog is happy and well.
Experience & qualifications
I hold a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and am fully insured for pet care.
Every dog I care for is met in advance — I don't accept bookings without a meet and greet first. This ensures your dog is comfortable with me and my home before any stay begins.
Let's meet — your dog first
Every new booking starts with a relaxed meet and greet at my home. It's a chance for your dog to explore, for us to chat, and for you to feel completely confident before committing to anything.
